Position Profile:


Implement, execute, and lead an effective and control-oriented procurement practices for relevant department heads to source, order, and purchase items for the hotel. Obtain the best overall value for the highest quality products at the most competitive price, to maximize the balance between Team Member, Guest, and Owner satisfaction.


With high integrity, strives to provide a 5-star experience to guests, team members and suppliers.


Demonstrates a high level of initiative, personal commitment to service excellence and an entrepreneurial sense of responsibility in all interactions.


Manages a competitive bid process of all non-contracted purchases, qualifies lists of vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, equipment, contractors, and service providers, facilitates hotel credit, or accounts and maintains accurate files/records.


Monitors quality of products to ensure they meet the hotel and brand standards, evaluates new products that could enhance the operation and maximize opportunities to lower costs and increase profitability.


Develops purchasing procedures for the hotel per acceptable industry standards and professional control mechanisms.


Obtains competitive bids for products or services as required, conduct purchasing activities in compliance with hotel standards, policies, programs, code of ethics, ensuring that appropriate approvals and signatures are obtained prior to placing order.


Develops purchase orders, negotiates pricing, purchases goods, ensures delivery in a timely manner, reviews shipments for invoice accuracy and ensures products are received as ordered.


Forecasts purchasing requirements and assists in establishing appropriate par levels, balancing operational efficiency with ‘just-in-time’ inventory cost containment.


Maintains accurate records for all product specifications, warranties, requisitions, bid submission and purchase orders.


Maintains positive communication with all departments in the hotel, interacting with team members as internal customers and stay well informed of hotel VIP’s activities, promotions, and events.


Undertakes other ad hoc related responsibilities in finance, as required.

Demonstrates strong mathematical skills and sound understanding for purchasing procedures, negotiating, sourcing vendors, inventory monitoring and cost control.

 

Relationship Management - Outstanding abilities to build, maintain positive internal relationships.

 

Organizational skills– Able to manage multiple purchasing needs/tasks in an organized, efficient manner especially at pre-opening stage, demonstrating superior administrative and time management.

 

Internal customer service excellence - strives for service excellence in all relationships.

 

Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication with 100% fluency in English to read product brochures, completes purchase requisitions, conducts product online searches, contracts, forms, conduct inventories and review invoices.

 

Ethical conduct and responsibility – Fair and consistent vendor management and fulfills responsibilities with the highest integrity.

 

Results driven – Self-motivated, high initiative, ability to work with minimal supervision.

 

 

Education & Experience:

 

Minimum 3 years previous experience purchasing in an international world-class brand hotel/hospitality environment.

 

Demonstrated knowledge and experience local and international suppliers.

 

Bachelors in Hospitality Management preferred.

 

 

Must be presently legal to work in the USA to be considered.
