Position Profile:

 

Working with the Director of Finance, participate in the development, implementation and administration of all Financing functions.

 

• With a high level of integrity, creativity and personal commitment to service excellence, inspire an emotional sense of gracious hospitality through personal professionalism, exemplifying what it means to provide a 5 diamond/5 star experience.


• Provide administrative support within the Finance department.


• Ensure compliance to all hotel policies and actively demonstrate teamwork, safe work practices, open communication, accuracy in transactions, respect, family spirit & genuine kindness.


Accounts Payable Functions:


• Match purchase orders to vendor invoices & packing slips.
• Reconcile vendor statements.
• Post invoices.
• Prepare cheques for vendors.
• Respond to vendor enquires on outstanding invoices.
• Other A/P duties as assigned.

 

Accounts Receivable Functions:


• Review and maintain PM accounts.
• Respond to guest enquiries, either via phone or e-mail.
• Prepare group bills.
• Charge and mail out monthly invoices.
• Process credit applications.
• Follow-up payment / collection of Accounts Receivable.
• Respond to credit card charge back enquiries.
• Reconcile credit cards submissions daily.
• Undertake other ad hoc related responsibilities, as required.

Core Skills & Competencies:

 

 • Drives results – Strives for excellence in the Finance department of the hotel.


• Analytical skills – Must have strong analytical, organizational, multitasking skills and be able to manage multiple projects successfully.


• Functional expertise – Demonstrates considerable competence in technical areas of accounting including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, cash management, reporting, legislation, payroll, payables, receivables, inventory and asset management.


• Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication with 100% fluency in English.


• Mathematical skills – Perform a multitude of complex calculations.


• Approachability – Through personal presence, be highly approachable to Managers, Executives and team members.


• Decision making and problem solving – Responds promptly, accurately and reasonably when making decisions, ultimately ensuring successful problem resolution.

 

 

Education & Experience:

 

• Demonstrated knowledge of hotel accounting plus related programs and systems.


• Knowledge of accounting related computer technology and hotel applications with knowledge of Opera Property Management Systems and Micros preferred.


• Knowledge of Night Audit, Income Audit and/or Receivables is an asset.

 

Must be presently legal to work in the USA to be considered.
